Retreat in North Bali
Sinara Bali (Sunset Sala) is a peaceful retreat located 20 minutes from the Sekumpul Waterfall in a quiet place amidst rice fields and durian forests designed to help you relax, rest and restore while you explore the north.
Sudaji
We are located on the fringes of a traditional Balinese market village with under 10K inhabitants. Sinara Bali (Sunset Sala) is surrounded by mountains, rivers, and authentic Balinese rural life still untouched by the tourism frenzy of the south.
Restore
Sleep comfortably in one of our 4 homes, 3 of those with private kitchens. Sit at our shared lounge and contemplate the diligence, commitment and care with which farmers tend to their crops daily.
Food
Come with us to the local market and get creative in your own kitchen, or try our traditional Balinese meals, made from scratch with fresh ingredients, without MSG and cooked exclusively with coconut oil.
Activities
Staying with us means retreating into an authentic experience in nature while also getting a chance to interact directly with locals and craft memorable moments during your stay on the island.
Contribute
When you stay with us, you actively contribute to the wellbeing of Sudaji! We’ve been operating for 10 years in pure synergy with the progress of the village and we help to strengthen the local economy with every guest that stays with us.
Your Hosts
Sinara Bali (Sunset Sala) is a place to enjoy an authentic exchange with wonderful Balinese hosts who can satisfy the curiosity of the foreign tourist while staying true to their traditional values.
Ibu Ayu
Ayu will make sure your stay is pleasant and memorable. She is our manager and guest relations queen. Ayu has been with Sunset Sala since 2012 and she is also our head chef!
Ibu Ayu and Ibu Komang offer traditional Balinese Cooking classes at Sunset Sala.
Ibu & Pak Mangku
They look after Rumah Sinara, the cottage. He loves tending to the trees and she will make sure you are well taken care of. Ibu is also our activities lead!
They will conduct a beautiful traditional Balinese Hindu cleansing ceremony for you.
Ibu Komang
Komang is our housekeeping lead. She has been making sure the premises are in good shape for your enjoyment since 2019. Komang is also an amazing cook!
